I liked it when I was a child and would do live 'radio' plays for my family behind a curtain. At college I found that talking into a microphone was more personal and less frightening than going onto a stage or being filmed - and the affection grew.
Like Jimmy, and like many people before though, I didn't think of radio as a career straight away. I started doing the odd interview on the side, and gradually spent more and more time on RTHK's classical channel until I realised that radio was what I had wanted to do all along; a friend that had somehow become a partner.
Jimmy shares the passion for a medium that connects better than any other. Without many of the technical complications that come with TV it’s as simple and as direct as talking.
It would be great if Jimmy could get as much out of radio as I do. I know he too started early, and is gradually moving from an amateur passion to professional excellence. Here’s hoping for a life-long love!
